In 2011, Jordan Fishwick Lettings and Property Management won the Silver award for Best medium sized Letting agent of the year in the North of England in association with The Times and The Sunday Times. They are the only Letting agent within Manchester, South Manchester and Cheshire to receive such an award in 2011.


With property prices falling in many parts of the country and the future looking at best uncertain, estate agents are competing for fewer and fewer vendors, many of whom are reluctant to sell their houses for less than they paid for them, even if the house they are looking to buy has dropped in value. In addition, estate agents find it difficult to differentiate themselves from their competitors in the eyes of the public, as they all have the same sales techniques, infrastructure and tools. Having just won a prestigious award, Jordan Fishwick was anxious to capitalise on its success, and achieve a higher perceived status within their target market and thereby attract more vendors.


A branch by branch analysis was carried out in an attempt to find out whether there was a best practice model that could be rolled out throughout the organisation. Although there was a variance between the best and worst performing branch, this wasn’t large enough to form a repeatable model that would enable Jordan Fishwick to capture a significantly larger slice of the market. It was concluded that a campaign to generate brand awareness of Jordan Fishwick throughout the target communities was the only feasible way of increasing the number of valuations that Jordan Fishwick carried out, thereby leading to increased turnover based on the current conversion rate from valuation to instruction.
